Notice of the 2018 Federation Annual Meeting and Elections – The Federation of Kings Point Associations, Inc. Annual Meeting and Election will be held on Friday, March 30, 2018 at 9:30 am in the Kings Point North Clubhouse, Veterans Theater, 1900 Clubhouse Drive, Sun City Center, FL 33573.

The Standing Election Committee held an open meeting on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Ripple room and Certified the Candidates who submitted a Notice of Intent to run for the 2018 Federation Board of Directors.  The results are as follows:

District I – Ryan Setzer, from Bedford D and Margaret Wilcher from Fairfield F – An Election Is Required

District II – Jim Kulp, from Dorchester A – Unopposed

District VII – Janice Kincaid from Villeroy, and David Wetmore from Acadia II – An Election Is Required

District VIII – Steve Harnois from Fairbourne and Kenneth Winter from Corinth – An Election is Required

District IX – Alan Hahn from Richmond Villas and Ray Shaw from Maplewood – An Election is Required

Since the number of openings exceeds the number of candidates that applied (one (1) opening for each District), an election is required in Districts I, VII, VIII and IX.  A Second Notice and Ballot will be mailed to all owners by March 10, 2018.  District II is unopposed so no other mailing will be sent out.

The Candidates will be introduced at the Federation Membership Meeting on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 9:30 am in the Veterans Theater.

The COA will hold a “Meet The Federation Candidates” meeting on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Banquet Room.

Owners are to submit their ballots by mail or personally delivering it to the FirstService Residential office by 5:00 pm on Monday, March 26, 2018.  The SEC will open and count the ballots at an open meeting on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 1:00 pm in the Ripple Room.  The voting results will be announced at the Federation’s Annual Meeting on Friday, March 30, 2018 at 9:30 am in the Veterans Theater.

Directors whose terms expire March 30, 2018 are:  Bill Piper (District I); Maureen Hamilton (District II); Mike Bardell (District VII); Liz Argott (District VIII) and Mary Ann Meeker (District IX).  All Directors are term limited and cannot run again in 2018.

The incumbents not up for election in 2018 are:  Chuck Huften (District III); Tom Murphy, (District IV); Ralph Belcher (District V) and Joan Chace (District VI). 


Recreational Facilities Executive Committee – Vacancies in Regions I and II

Region I (One (1) Vacancy for a Two  (2) Year Term): Andover (All), Bedford (All), Cambridge (All), Dorchester (All), Fairfield (All), Gloucester (All) and the Knolls (All)

Region II (One (1) Vacancy for a Two (2) Year Term): Highgate’s (All), Idlewood and Lancaster’s (All)

As announced at the January 10, 2018 Federation Board Meeting and the February Pointer, there are Two (2) Unit Owner-Resident positions on the RFEC that will become vacant as of March 31, 2018. The Committee is seeking candidates who are Kings Point Unit Owner-Residents in Regions I and II.

If you are interested in serving a two (2) year term on the RFEC in your Region, please provide a cover letter with your contact information and a resume addressed to Mary Ann Meeker, Federation Secretary, and put it in the Federation Mailbox located in the President’s mailroom or email KPFederation@tampabay.rr.com

Deadline for submitting your notice is March 2, 2018.  Interviews will be scheduled by the Federation Standing Election Committee (SEC).


Kings Point West Recreational Facilities Rules Association, Inc. (KPWRFRA) Board of Directors Vacancy

The Kings Point West Recreational Facilities Rules Association (KPWRFRA) has one (1) vacancy on their Board of Directors as the Lessor Director beginning April 1, 2018

Per the AMENDED AND RESTATED ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION OF THE KINGS POINT WEST RECREATIONAL FACILITIES RULES ASSOCIATION, INC. (a not-for-profit corporation of the State of Florida)

ARTICLE VI. MANAGEMENT – The affairs of the Corporation shall be managed by its Board of Directors, which shall consist of three (3) individuals. Two of the Directors shall be unit owners elected from among the condominium and homeowner associations at Kings Point West, Florida who are or whose association is, a lessee of the Kings Point Recreational Facilities (“Lessee Directors”). The third director shall be appointed by Kings Point West, Inc., or the then current Lessor of the Kings Point Recreational Facilities, and shall serve until said Lessor shall appoint a replacement (“Lessor Director”). The Lessor Director does not need to be a unit owner in Kings Point West and may be an officer or employee of the Lessor.

If you are interested in this position, you may apply by submitting a cover letter and resume to the Federation Secretary, and put it in the Federation Mailbox located in the President’s mailroom or email your information to KPFederation@tampabay.rr.com by March 2, 2018.  Interviews will be conducted in March.

The Insurance Workshops are Presented by The Federation Insurance Committee and The Insurance Broker for the Federation Association Members Greg Waltz, of Mack, Mack and Waltz. These workshops are for all Kings Point Unit Owners, and are on a first come first serve basis.

Residents who have questions regarding their account, experience technical issues, or wish to schedule an installation can stop by the clubhouse to speak to a representative on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday or you can call the Kings Point dedicated number 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 813-436-2182.  

You may also visit the nearest Bright House Office, located at:  1945 Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511.  The office is open Monday-Friday, 8am-6pm, and Saturday 9am-1pm.  (Updated 03/30/17)
